Heidi Borden
MA, LPCC/LPC-S, RPT-S
Heidi earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling from Eastern New Mexico University in 2005 and has worked as a full‑time therapist ever since. Her experience spans private practice and educational settings, where she has served as an evaluator, mental health counselor, and guidance counselor. She has also taught as an adjunct instructor in ENMU’s graduate counseling program.
Heidi enjoys supervising practicum interns, clinicians pursuing advanced licensure, and play therapists working toward their Registered Play Therapist credential.
She has evaluated students with autism for the State of New Mexico and developed plans and services for students with disabilities. Heidi is licensed to practice in Texas and New Mexico and holds credentials as a Registered Play Therapist (RPT), Registered Play Therapist Supervisor (RPT‑S), and Registered Sand Therapist (RST) through the World Association of Sand Therapy Professionals. She is also trained in Flash Technique Trauma Therapy and Level 1 Restoration Therapy, with specialized training in trauma work through both Sandtray Therapy and the Flash Technique.
Heidi works with adults, couples, and children, including non‑verbal children with autism and those with developmental needs. She values both therapeutic progress and the strength of the client‑therapist relationship, believing that meaningful connection supports meaningful change. Her sessions often incorporate humor, movement, and playfulness.
Outside the therapy room, Heidi enjoys gardening, reading, cooking, traveling, and decorating. Her faith in Jesus is central to her life, and she treasures time with family and friends. Heidi married her sweetheart, Billy, in 1995, and together they have two grown children and three grandchildren.
