
Heidi Borden
MA, LPCC/LPC-S, RPT-S
Heidi received her Bachelors degree in Psychology and Religion in 2002 & a Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling from Eastern New Mexico University in 2005. She has extensive experience in private practice, as well as, counseling in educational settings, both as an evaluator and a guidance counselor. She has served as an adjunct instructor for the graduate counseling program at ENMU. Heidi enjoys supervising interns for practicum and clinicians who seek higher licensure levels.
Heidi has served on Autism Evaluation teams, providing plans and services for students with disabilities. She is licensed to counsel in Texas and New Mexico, a Registered Play Therapist (RPT), and Registered Play Therapist Supervisor (RPT-S). Her certifications include full certification in Sand Tray therapy, a certified Flash Technique Trauma Therapist and Level 1 Restoration Therapy. Heidi is trained to work with trauma in both sandtray therapy and Flash Technique. Flash Technique is a evidence based practice that is similar to EMDR without having to talk about the traumatic event.
Heidi’s counseling passion includes working with adults, couples, and children. She has worked with non-verbal children with autism and children with other developmental needs. Heidi prioritizes both therapeutic gains and building the client relationship, which produce positive outcomes for clients. Heidi brings humor, movement, and fun into her sessions.
Heidi’s passions outside of therapy including, gardening, reading, cooking, travel, and decorating. Heidi is also a Certified Yoga instructor. Most importantly, Heidi loves Jesus and enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Heidi married her sweetheart, Billy, in 1995 and they have 2 grown children and 3 grandchildren.
Get Started
We serve all age ranges of clientele, 4 and up. Sessions are usually 45-50
minutes but can be scheduled longer if a more intensive approach is
preferred by the client.
