Our services include individual counseling, pre-marital and marriage counseling, family and group sessions.  We serve all age range of clientele ages 4 and up. Below is a detailed explanation of what clients can expect from LiveWell regarding the services they use.  Sessions are usually 45-50 minutes but can be scheduled longer if a more intensive approach is preferred by the client.

Individual sessions are focused on the client’s goals and working out their needs for relational balance and health in their life.  The client’s goals will guide treatment, as this is the definition they hold for success in their counseling journey. The therapist will assist with pointing out additional points of growth as they see them arise.

The group dynamic is where the vision for LiveWell originates! Groups are seen as a very powerful platform for three main functions for clients. First, the relational value of LW comes alive in group, as this is an arena where clients are engaging with others, sharing their story, and able to activate the learned skills on the spot through interactions. Second, group is an impactful way to experience counseling in a more inexpensive manner. Third, groups provide comfort. As clients hear other members experiences, it naturally offers listeners with the relief that they are not the only ones to a hard story.

How it works

Two specific groups running are LiveWell group and LiveWell 2.0. These groups are centered around the integration of caring for the 4D self.  In these groups, we incorporate exercise with the therapeutic treatment, along with multiple other resources. These additional elements are educational articles, self care statistics, mindfulness tools, recipes, journaling, taste testing healthy foods, and the list keeps on going! We are very passionate about our LiveWell groups! The exercise is flexible to anyone’s limitations. We feature yoga classes facilitated by certified yoga instructors, outdoor exercise such as walking, walk/jog, or running. During summer months, we will do various light cardio stations with our walks/runs. This is not a work out group, but a therapy group that accesses the positive effects that exercise has on the brain during session. All age ranges attend group, from 22-65!

The LiveWell model requires a person attend a four week group that is the basic LiveWell framework. After that, they can attend the 2.0 group for however long desired. It is set up for clients to use the 2.0 participation as a membership, if the client desires to use this as his or her mode of self-care. These group experiences center on proactive self-care, and include premium service and comfort for working through therapy.

EMDR Trauma

Retraining how the brain responds to trauma. Traumatic events can produce limitations in our daily lives with symptoms such as poor sleep, eating disorders, stress, trouble with relationships and connecting with others.

Trauma isn’t black and white and takes on many forms: abuse (physical, sexual, emotional or verbal), phobias, divorce, job loss, bullying, diagnosis of disease, loss of a loved one, survivors of natural disasters, any first responders, police officers, ambulance nurses, a personal crisis or tragedy, eating disorders, body image disorders, chronic pain, or anxiety.

Our EMDR trauma therapist is ready to help you heal. EDMR takes a trauma memory that’s stored in a dysfunctional part of the brain and desensitizes that memory or experience to eliminate symptoms that affect quality of life.

Marriage Counseling

Most marital conflicts are the same old fight over and over, just a different context.  In marital therapy, we will work with clients to help them gain the needed insight into their own emotional picture, in order to grow new ways of relating to one another, which assists in avoiding the repetitive unproductive cycle.

These marriage counseling sessions will help approach  clients individually in conjunction with their relationship.  The primary client for the therapist in marital treatment is the relationship the two people have together: the US. The client’s will be taught self awareness of their emotions. This will enable them to work on themselves, or self regulate, rather than co regulate–work on each other.  This is an effective way for each person in the marriage to take care of themselves and take responsibility for the health of the marriage.

Pre Marriage Counseling

Sessions for pre marriage counseling will include a similar framework of marital counseling sessions, learning self regulation for conflict and stress.  These sessions will also focus on specific topics for each person to express their ideas, in order for sharing to cultivate unity. Some of these topics will include finances, family dynamics,  short and long term goals/vision for the marriage, etc. This process is a six-week journey, unless the couple desires otherwise.

Think of your family as a machine with moving and working parts, all doing a job no matter how big or small.  The family is a system and there is a culture that resides in the family runs. The members of your family have learned how it works and what their role is, even if these are not discussed. This can be machine can be moving in a positive or negative direction. The goals for family counseling are that the family would connect relationally and gain some understanding of one another. This allows for a sense of stability and balance to be established.  Family sessions will focus on the same self regulation treatment as other types of counseling at LiveWell. However, these sessions will also assisting parents in getting to a stable emotional place, in order to listen and learn of their children, so they can know how to best help them.

Food, Health, & Body Image

Sessions to support a healthy, productive lifestyle and positive self-image. Many types of trauma can bring about eating disorders or unhealthy relationships with food. These sessions begin with an assessment to determine the individual’s needs and goals, as well as physical illnesses, diseases, or symptoms they may be having. We work through the client’s connection with food and develop a plan to move forward in a productive way – improving digestion, adding adequate nutrients, meal planning, grocery shopping, understanding hunger or emotional cues. Mind, body, and spirit – healing is a lifelong journey, not a puzzle that can be pieced together.

Our faith-based services are based upon the Christian value system.  This is an additional way we can care for our clients who desire to integrate this into their treatment plan to enhance their experience.

Young Adult

As adults begin to launch out of their home, into a new world whether it can bring adjustments necessary for support.  This transition can require new skills or tools to accommodate a greater demand in academic, relationship, the workplace, and personal responsibility.  At LiveWell, we work to help our young adult clients to see their capability in embracing the new burden of becoming an adult. Emotional self regulating skills and practical coaching are instituted as a priority in promoting adjustment and stability.

Child and Adolescent

The world our children are growing up in is different than the world their parents grew up in. Amy has a friend who has described to her as “our kids are living in a world that is like swimming in toxic waters with sharks.” At LiveWell we understand the cultural dynamic children and teens are immersed in is intense and challenging at times for them to succeed. Sessions with this population not only focuses on their developmental stages, but also serves as educational support for boundaries, using their voice, balance, and standing up for what is right. One of the primary goals for this population at LiveWell is they would embrace who God has created them to be and dare to be themselves.

We also understand this demographic is under a substantial amount of technological pressure. As a result, we  work with your child to combat this with productive tools, most of which will be of a relational tone by supporting them to learn the skills they need to communicate with parents or guardians, trusted friends like coaches, teachers, or mentors when they need help navigating these troublesome waters outside of their time at LiveWell.
